After Endhiran the robot Rajni's next project is Rana it is directed by K.S.Ravi Kumar. He has already directed two movies of Rajni and produced both as a very big hit movie.The two movies are Muthu and Padaiyappa. Shooting was started in April 2011. but the shooting was unsuccessful. On the first day shooting itself Rajni kanth's was hospitalized due to some problem in his body. And in this movie Rajni joining Deepika Padukone for first time. Deepika Padukone's first step in tamil cinema is Rana.
The shooting of Rana was stopped when the time it was started. And there are also some rumor that the movie has been dropped. Director of this movie K.S.Ravi kumar says that do not buy the rumor and he also says that "Rana is to be started on the month of January, and the date is to be decided in the month of December. He says that Rajni is totally fit to start act in the movie Rana and Super star is also ready to act in the movie, but K.S.Ravi kumar said to Rajni to take rest".
